Beyond the mechanism.
Professional plating
Each component is thoroughly cleaned, chemically degreased and submerged in an electrolyte solution. An electric current bonds metal ions smoothly and evenly to the surface.
A flash coat of copper is often applied first, because silver and gold bond more securely to copper than to raw brass or nickel silver.
Logo restoration
Handling, sweat, cleaning solvents and everyday wear make the gold or silver pigment of a maker’s stamp flake away or fade.
We repair, refill and re-highlight worn hallmarks on wooden and plastic bodies, using modern computer technology for a crisp, faithful result.
